Serving the Poor in Lebanon

Serving the Poor in Lebanon

Minister General of the Conventual Franciscan Order, Friar Carlos Trovarelli, visited our parish in Beirut, Lebanon, to bless a new kitchen that has been put at the service of the poor.

The blessing took place after the Sunday evening mass on August 1st.  Mass was celebrated by the Apostolic Vicar in Lebanon, Bishop César Essayan OFM Conv., together with the parish community at Église Saint Antoine De Padoue – Horch Tabet Sin el Fil LIBAN

The friars, along with volunteers from the parish and local NGOs, have already begun using the kitchen  to distribute meals to families in need.

Living the Gospel, Serving in Charity – Bishop César Essayan OFM Conv., the Apostolic Vicar for the Latin Church in Lebanon, has a simple motto: Gospel, Charity. Working for justice, peace, and most of all communion, he sees Lebanon as a laboratory of a human fraternity between Christians and Muslims. (Credit – music by scottholmesmusic.com)
