Franciscans in the Ukraine
Friar Michal Staszak provides an update from our friary in Bilshivtsi. Located in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine, this area is relatively safe, with many rehabilitation centers for war victims from the eastern sectors.
Our friary recently donated nine power generators and four power converters with rechargeable batteries to medical facilities in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. It also financed the purchase of an ultrasound machine for the facility in Yaremče, where child victims of the war are treated. These donations were made possible with the help of people of good will in Poland and other countries, from the Missionary Circle of the St. Francis Parish in Zielona Góra, Poland, and from the Provincial Custody of the Holy Cross in Ukraine.
We sincerely thank everyone for their assistance and we pledge to pray for our benefactors before the miraculous image of Our Lady of Peace and Reconciliation in Bilshivtsi.
