Art by the Friars
The Franciscans have a deep tradition in the arts. Many of our friars create art in various mediums – textiles, pottery, photography, painting, sculpture, and more.
The Mary Anderson Center at the Mount Saint Francis Center for Spirituality in Mount St. Francis, Indiana, is currently holding an exhibit featuring friar artists – including: friars Ken Bartsch, Don Bassana, Miguel Briseño, Ian Bremar, Richard Kaley, Charles McCarthy, Vince Petersen, Tom Smith, & others.
Friar Vince Petersen introduces the exhibit and talks about why the arts are so important – especially in today’s digital age.
The exhibit is open through June 4th – Mondays and Wednesdays from 11am to 2pm – Fridays from 4pm to 7pm.
