Four Friars Profess Solemn Vows

On Friday, August 2, 2024, four friars continued their Franciscan journey by making their Solemn Vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Friars Raad Eshoo, Cristofer Fernández, and Joseph Krondon made their vows at St. Louis Catholic Church in Clarkesville, MD. Friar Wayne Mulei made his vows at Transfiguration Church in Castro Valley, CA.

Friar Wayne was born in Reno, NV and, prior to entering the Order, served four years with the United States Marine Corps. He earned a B.S. in History form the University of Nevada, Reno. He will begin his second year of theology at the Catholic University of America. (See a video about his transition from the military to the Franciscans.)

Frair Raad was born in Mosul, Iraq. He earned his B.A. in Theology and Religious Studies at Catholic University of America in 2023. His current assignment is teaching at Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, MD. (Learn more about Archbishop Curley High School.)

Friar Cristofer was born in Alexandria, VA. He has a B.S. in Environmental & Conservation Biology from George Mason University, an M.A. in Theology, Religion, Culture from the Catholic University of America, and a Certificate in Franciscan Philosophy from the Franciscan School of Theology. His current assignment is with Franciscan Northside Ministries in Syracuse, NY. (Friar Cristofer is one of the animators for the Creation page on our website – check it out.)

Friar Joseph was born in Baltimore, MD. He studied at the Catholic University of America and is completing his degree at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. His current assignment is at Assumption Church and the Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen in Syracuse, NY. (Read more about this ministry.)
