Earth Day 2023

Earth Day 2023

#InvestInOurPlanet

Everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable

On Saturday, April 22, we will celebrate Earth Day 2023. The theme is Invest in Our Planet.

Here are a few ways we are participating.

Franciscan Earth Care Initiative (Mt. St. Francis, Indiana)

Join us at Mount Saint Francis for a celebration of Earth Day 2023 on Saturday, April 22nd! We’re continuing with our annual Free Tree Giveaway and our environmental exhibits and displays – solar, gardening, composting, beekeeping, etc. Be sure to see Evolve KY’s electric vehicles on display and take a test drive. Don’t miss our exhibit in the Mary Anderson Center Gallery – “A Terrible Grace – Reincarnated Waste” featuring Linda Erzinger and Jerry Davis will feature art using recycled materials.

Holy Cross Retreat Center, Mesilla Park, New Mexico (near Las Cruces)

Earth Day will include presentations and activities to heighten our appreciation of creation as well as give us practical ways to care for the earth (ways to conserve water, how to recycle, planting and caring for trees & bushes, and much more.)

Earth Day Ecumenical Service Sunday April 23, 6:30pm—Join us for prayer, music, and a discussion of religious dimensions of Caring for our Common Home.

Little Portion Farm is celebrating the feast day of Blessed Giles on April 23 from 1 to 4pm. Bring a friend or family, and come enjoy cookout food, farm tours, and fellowship on this spring afternoon at the farm. If you’ve been wanting to visit or learn more about our work, this will be a great opportunity to see the farm and meet our volunteers. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, and enjoy some time outdoors in community. The event is free with a suggested $5 donation to help us cover costs. Please get your ticket so we know how much food to provide. Hope to see you there!
