A new mural now graces the exterior walls of the Pump House Studio at the Mount Saint Francis Retreat Center in Mt. St. Francis, Indiana. It announces the launching of the Laudato Sí Action Platform by the Vatican, which will help Catholic institutions (parishes, schools, hospitals, etc.), families, and individuals address climate change in real day-to-day ways. It is a clarion call for immediate climate action to save our common home. The mural – which is still in progress – will include animal and plant species that are either endangered or nearing extinction – including human beings. The project is a collaboration between Chris Chappell, who is a well- known muralist in the Louisville area, and Friar Vince Petersen who developed the overall design.
