Webinar - Celebrating the World Day of Prayer for Creation with the New Mass: Why and How to Mark the Day of Prayer and the Extended Season of Creation

The webinar explored the significance of the World Day of Prayer for Creation, which is celebrated annually on September 1, and the wider Season of Creation, which continues until October 4, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi. Participants learned about the new Mass for the Care of Creation, a significant liturgical resource that helps communities celebrate God’s gift of creation and reflect on our responsibility to care for our common home.
A central theme of the webinar was the introduction of the Mass for the Care of Creation. The new Mass provides prayers and liturgical texts that emphasize gratitude for creation, responsible stewardship of the earth, ecological conversion and care for the poor and vulnerable. It offers parishes, schools, dioceses, and religious communities a powerful way to celebrate both the Day of Prayer and the entire Season of Creation.
