In these difficult days around the world, many communities are suffering from war, displacement, hunger, injustice, and uncertainty. Saint Francis greeted every home with the blessing: “Peace to this house.” As his followers, we are called to respond, not only with concern, but with prayer that unites our hearts with those who suffer.
I invite you to pray the “Franciscan Prayer for Peace in Every Land.” It is a reflection rooted in the Franciscan tradition of solidarity with the poor and vulnerable. The prayer lifts up the cries of those affected by violence, poverty, displacement, and injustice across the globe, reminding us that “what one feels, we all feel” in the Body of Christ.
This prayer is offered as a spiritual resource for individuals, friaries, parishes, and ministries who wish to hold the world in prayer and renew our commitment to peace, mercy, and reconciliation.
The prayer is available for download in English, Italian, Spanish, and Polish on the Resources Page so that communities around the world can pray together for peace.
In the spirit of St. Francis, may this prayer strengthen our communion and inspire us to become instruments of God’s peace wherever we live and serve.
