Since the 1920s, the friars in southern Indiana have held an annual summer picnic. In 2015, MountFest was established to provide an event to highlight the region’s arts, music, and food.
Admission to the event is free (a $5 donation for parking is suggested.) This year there will be more than 45 artisan booths, live music, local wine and beer, and a variety of local food vendors. Other attractions include a Kids’ Zone with activities and mini golf, a silent auction, raffles, nature trails, and plenty of space in which to relax.
Proceeds from the event sustain the Retreat Assistance Fund. The fund provides scholarships for high school students, offers overnight retreats to individuals facing homelessness, and other assistance to those who need to rest and reconnect with God in the 400-acre sanctuary.
