From April 20 to 23, 2023, leadership of the Conventual Franciscan Federation (CFF – Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, USA) met for their spring assembly at St. Bonaventure Friary in Chicago, Illinois.
They worked on furthering collaboration between jurisdictions, formation issues, Justice and Peace initiatives, and much more.
The friars took a break from meetings to visit the nearby Conventual Franciscan Parish of Mary, Mother of God – the combination of Saint Ita, Saint Gregory, and Saint Thomas of Canterbury. This parish has the largest number of different ethnicities in the Archdiocese of Chicago – more than 30 are represented. The parish is served by the friars living in a friary located at Saint Ita.
In March, Friar Joseph Wood was appointed to the office of Assistant General for the CFF. Friar Joseph most recently served as Novice Master for the CFF Novitiate in Arroyo Grande, California.
