Congrats to Student Nurses

Congrats to Student Nurses

Earlier this fall, the annual White Coat Dedication and Blessing of the Hands Ceremony was held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. This ceremony reminds student nurses to seek to provide patient-centered, humanistic care, and to be committed to the highest standards of the profession.

Friar Jude DeAngelo, the University Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry, at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.,  blessed the hands of more than 150 student nurses from the 2022 and 2023 classes in the University’s Conway School of Nursing. (The 2022 class blessing was delayed due to COVID.)

The Franciscan vision of Campus Ministry at the University  inspires the students to follow Christ and embrace the Gospel, to lead lives of service, and to have special love and concern for the poor. Friar Jude says, “We are honored to walk with every student in our community – Muslim, Protestant, Jewish, or Catholic students – regardless of where they may be on their journey of faith.”
