As we watch the development of Hurricane Milton and Florida prepares for this now category 5+ storm, people continue to suffer from the devastating impact of Helene.
On Friday, October 4, the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, Conventual Franciscan Michael Martin, Bishop of Charlotte, visited the town of Swannanoa. This mountain community is among the areas hardest hit by the September 27 floods. Bishop Martin listened to the stories, prayed with the people, and blessed babies and children. He also visited Hendersonville, where Immaculata Catholic School is serving as a hub to distribute water, food, diapers, and more. He assisted unloading supplies into the school gym, encouraged the volunteers, and talked and prayed with residents in the car line.
Please pray for all those affected by Hurricane Helene, as well as those who are in the path of Hurricane Milton.
