...for Justice
…for Justice
"How can you boast? Nothing belongs to you."
–St. Francis of Assisi, Admonitions V
Conventuals announce the basic reality of human existence: we come into the world with nothing of our own; we depart the same way. Francis emphasized, therefore, the need to live without anything of one’s own throughout the course of life. The truth that everything we have is ultimately received as gift has profound implications for our execution of justice, which seeks to give each their due. Friars work toward a more authentic and distributive justice.
